By using Achtbaan you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The service

Achtbaan is a free, informational website that lets you browse, filter, sort and compare roller coasters and view a derived thrill score. It is provided for general interest and entertainment.

Eligibility

You may use Achtbaan if you can form a binding agreement under the law that applies to you. If you are under 16, please use the site with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using Achtbaan you confirm you meet these requirements.

Acceptable Use

• Do not scrape, overload, disrupt, probe or attempt to reverse-engineer the service.
• Do not use the site or the contact form for unlawful, abusive, misleading or infringing purposes.
• Do not misrepresent the data or pass the site off as your own.

Accuracy of information

We work to keep the coaster statistics accurate and the thrill score is computed transparently from those statistics (see the About page). However, figures are provided “as is”, may change as rides are modified, and may contain errors. The thrill score is one defensible measure, not an official rating. Never rely on Achtbaan for safety, height-restriction or operational decisions; always follow the park's own information.

Billing and Subscriptions

Achtbaan is currently free to use and has no paid plans or subscriptions. If paid features are introduced, they will be sold and billed by Website Holding B.V. as merchant of record, and the price, billing period and terms will be shown clearly before you buy. We will never charge you without your explicit prior consent.

Cancellation and Refunds

Because the service is free, there is nothing to cancel and no payments to refund. If paid plans are added in future, you will be able to cancel at any time (access continues until the end of the paid period), and where EU consumer law applies you will have a 14-day right of withdrawal on new purchases, subject to the conditions shown at checkout.

Intellectual property

The Achtbaan name, design, written content and the thrill-score methodology are owned by Website Holding. Factual statistics about coasters are not owned by us. You may share links to the site freely; you may not copy the site wholesale or pass it off as your own.

No affiliation

Achtbaan is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any amusement park, ride manufacturer or brand mentioned on the site. All park and ride names are the property of their respective owners.

Limitation of Liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Website Holding is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, and the courts of the Netherlands have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own country of residence.

Changes

We may update these terms as the site evolves; the effective date above will change when we do. Continuing to use Achtbaan after a change means you accept the updated terms.
